Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in WHO South-East Asia

Four countries in the WHO South-East Asia Region (India, Nepal, Thailand and Sri Lanka) have reported 38 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as of 11 February 2020.  Of these,  33 cases are from Thailand.  This new coronavirus was first reported from Wuhan, China, on 31 December 2019.  From strengthening screening at airports and laboratory capacity to awareness campaigns, all countries are carrying out a range of measures to respond to this outbreak, declared as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).   WHO has provided technical guidance on all key areas. This website provides information and guidance of relevance to the WHO South-East Asia Region.”
