Influenza surveillance
Influenza surveillance occurs in all countries of the Southeast Asia Region. 9 of 11 countries have a designated National Influenza Center (NIC). Currently, all 11 member states’s NICs have reported at least one year of data to the WHO FluNet website. DPR Korea reported in 2018. One set of graphs included show the activity of each of the major types of influenza (A/H1N1, A/H3N2, and B) that are included in the seasonal influenza vaccine, as well as a graph of the total number of specimens processed by country. The second set of graphs show the approximate influenza seasons for each country. The next two graphs have data from 2018 and 2017, where each country’s contribution to a given week can be seen by color. As can be seen in the graphs, all countries have detected both types (A and B), and both subtypes of A (H1N1 and H3N2), although the amount of each varies with season and year.
