Overview

Professor Freudenberg will describe how food, alcohol, tobacco and other industries contribute to the global burden of noncommunicable diseases and how public health professionals, civil society groups and governments can act to reduce harmful commercial influences.

The webinar will explore strategies to prevent, regulate and counteract business and political practices of corporations that increase the prevalence or inequitable distribution of NCDs or undermine local, national or global public health prevention policies.

Professor Nicholas Freudenberg is author of 'Lethal but Legal Corporations, Consumption and Protecting Public Health' (Oxford University Press, 2016).
