Rationale:
Many maternal and newborn deaths occur within a few hours after birth. Postnatal care contacts, especially within the first few days following birth, are a critical opportunity for improving maternal and newborn health and survival and for provision of information about birth spacing.
Definition:
Percentage of women age 15-49 years who received a health check within 2 days after delivery of their most recent live birth in the last 2 years.

Location (urban/rural), Education level : Maternal education, Wealth : Wealth quintile
Method of measurement
Female survey respondents are asked about their most recent live birth, and when, if at all, their health was checked following delivery. This should include births at home and those in a health facility.
