The Sixty-fifth session of the Regional Committee for the Western Pacific was held in Manila, Philippines, from 13 to 17 October 2014. The opening ceremony included a cultural presentation and addresses by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, the Secretary of Health of the Philippines, the outgoing Chairperson of the sixty-fourth session of the Regional Committee, the Executive Director of the WHO Director-General’s Office on behalf of the Director-General, and the WHO Regional Director for the Western Pacific.
