Generating and monitoring epidemiological information

The aim of WHO is to generate high quality epidemiological information and monitoring and evaluation data to strengthen the uptake and implementation of maternal newborn child and adolescent health guidelines, policies and programmes.

Objectives

  • Build global consensus on MNCAH indicators to ensure harmonization of data standards;
  • Monitor uptake of WHO recommended interventions, policies and guidelines to improve maternal newborn child and adolescent health;
  • Conduct and support evaluations of programs, policies and guidelines produced by MCA;
  • Facilitate global surveys to collect data on MNCAH program implementation and policies where needed;
  • Compile, analyse and develop visualization tools for MNCAH data to make results available to all.
